New and Revised CPT Codes for Cardiac Implantable Devices Effective 1/1/2012- Please be advised that revisions to Cardiac Implantable Codes will become effective 1/1/2012. The addition of the following CPT codes include: 33221, 33224, 33227, 33228, 33229, 33230, 33231, 33262, 33263, and 33264. Revisions have been made to the following codes: 33206, 33207, 33208, 33212, 33213, 33214, 33225, 33240, and 33249. For providers who are required to obtain prior authorization for Cardiac Implantable Devices based on the member‘s health plan benefits, please review the summary analysis of the new and revised CPT codes for 2012 to assist you with the selection process during this transition period.
